Terms of Service
Effective date: 15 October 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of CorrespondR, including our website, web application, desktop applications, mobile applications and related services (collectively, the "Service").
CorrespondR AS, a Norwegian company with organisation number 931 147 765 ("CorrespondR", "we", "us" or "our"), provides the Service described in these Terms.
By creating an account, accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. About CorrespondR
CorrespondR is a communication and collaboration platform designed to help individuals and organisations communicate with external parties such as customers, suppliers, advisers, auditors, accountants, partners and other professional contacts.
CorrespondR provides the technical platform through which users communicate. We are not a party to agreements, transactions, professional engagements or other relationships established between users through the Service.
Users are responsible for their own communications, decisions and business relationships.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into an agreement to use CorrespondR.
If you use CorrespondR on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to use the Service on its behalf and, where applicable, to bind that organisation to these Terms.
The Service is primarily intended for professional and business-related communication.
3. Your Account
You may be required to create an account using an email address, password or supported third-party authentication provider.
You are responsible for:
- providing accurate account information;
- maintaining the security of your account;
- keeping your login credentials confidential;
- promptly notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised; and
- activity carried out through your account to the extent that such activity results from your actions or failure to protect your credentials.
You may not create an account using another person's identity or email address without authorisation.
We may require you to verify your email address or identity before accessing certain features.
An account created with an organisation's email domain is shown to others as a work account with that organisation's name. An account with a personal email address (such as Gmail or Outlook.com) is shown as a personal account. Only use a work email address that you are entitled to use.
4. Organisations and Other Users
CorrespondR allows users from different organisations to communicate with each other.
When you communicate with another user or organisation, information you choose to send to them will be accessible to the relevant participants in that conversation.
The admins of a conversation can add and remove participants and manage the conversation. People who join a conversation later do not see messages sent before they joined.
A Pro membership may be paid for by another person, such as your employer, who can give you access and later remove it. The person paying can see who holds the memberships they pay for, but not your conversations.
If your employer has the Organization plan for your work email domain, you are covered by it automatically (see section 10A).
You decide who may start a conversation with you (Settings → Privacy & contacts). Depending on your settings, conversations from people you don't know wait as message requests until you accept them.
Your employer, customer or another organisation may have its own policies governing your use of CorrespondR. You are responsible for complying with those policies.
4A. Invitations and Emails to Other People
When you add someone who does not yet use CorrespondR to a conversation, we send them an email invitation on your behalf, showing your name and the first message. If the conversation carries on before they sign up, we may send them up to two follow-up emails with the new messages. Every such email has a link to stop emails about that conversation.
Only invite people you have a legitimate reason to contact, and only share in a conversation what you are entitled to share with everyone in it, including people who have not signed up yet.
People who use CorrespondR may also receive emails from us about unread messages, at most twice a week. These can be turned off in Settings → Notifications.
4B. Your Chat Link
You can switch on a personal chat link (for example correspondr.com/to/your-name) in Settings → Profile. Anyone with the link can see your name, photo, job title and company, but never your email address, and can start a conversation with you after signing in or signing up. Conversations started from your link reach you even if your settings would otherwise hold them as message requests. Blocking and our fair-use limits still apply.
You choose the link's name. It must not impersonate another person or organisation, or infringe anyone's rights, and we may change or remove a name that does. You can rename or switch off your link at any time; a link that is switched off no longer works.
5. Your Content
"User Content" means messages, files, images, documents, profile information and other information that you submit, transmit, store or otherwise make available through CorrespondR.
You retain ownership of your User Content.
You grant CorrespondR a limited, non-exclusive right to host, store, process, transmit, display and otherwise handle User Content only to the extent reasonably necessary to:
- provide and operate the Service;
- deliver communications to their intended recipients;
- maintain and secure the Service;
- provide requested support;
- comply with applicable law; and
- enforce these Terms.
This does not transfer ownership of your User Content to CorrespondR.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and authority to upload or share User Content through the Service.
6. Confidential and Sensitive Information
CorrespondR may be used for professional communications, but you remain responsible for determining whether information is appropriate to share through the Service.
You should only disclose confidential information, personal data, trade secrets or other sensitive information if you are authorised to do so.
The availability of CorrespondR does not itself create a confidentiality agreement, professional privilege, fiduciary relationship or other special legal relationship between CorrespondR and users or between users.
Any confidentiality obligations between users must arise from their own agreements or applicable law.
7. Acceptable Use
You must not use CorrespondR to:
- violate applicable laws or regulations;
- impersonate another person or organisation;
- send fraudulent, deceptive or deliberately misleading communications;
- harass, threaten or abuse another person;
- distribute malware, malicious code or harmful software;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems or data;
- interfere with or disrupt the operation or security of the Service;
- conduct automated scraping or extraction of information without our permission;
- send unsolicited bulk communications or spam, including invitations to people you have no legitimate reason to contact;
- infringe intellectual property, privacy or other rights of another person;
- distribute content that is unlawful;
- use the Service to facilitate fraud or other unlawful activity; or
- circumvent technical restrictions, usage limits or security measures.
You may not reverse engineer, reproduce, resell or commercially exploit the Service except where expressly permitted by us or where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
8. Reporting and Blocking
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on CorrespondR.
You can block any user and report a user or their messages from their profile in the app. Blocking stops them from adding you to conversations, hides their messages from you and stops notifications about them. You can also report misuse to us at info@correspondr.com.
We review reports promptly, normally within 24 hours, and may investigate reports and take measures that we consider reasonably necessary and proportionate, including removing content, restricting functionality, suspending accounts or terminating accounts.
Where appropriate or required by law, we may provide affected users with information about actions taken regarding their account or content.
9. Free and Paid Plans
CorrespondR may offer free plans, trials, promotional access, paid subscriptions or other pricing arrangements.
The features, storage, usage allowances and other limitations applicable to a plan will be described when the plan is offered.
"Unlimited" features are subject to fair use. To protect users from spam and abuse, every plan, including Pro, has generous technical limits on how many new conversations, invitations and messages can be sent in a given period, and new accounts have lower limits during their first days. These limits are set well above normal business use. Reaching one may pause sending for a while and may be reviewed by us.
If your account has explicitly been granted a permanent or legacy free plan, that designation will continue subject to these Terms, reasonable technical or fair-use limitations, and the continued operation of the Service.
We may introduce additional paid functionality without requiring existing users to purchase it in order to continue using functionality that was expressly included in their existing plan, unless we clearly communicate otherwise and applicable law permits the change.
10. Paid Subscriptions
Where paid subscriptions are offered, applicable prices, billing intervals and subscription conditions will be displayed before purchase.
Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions automatically renew for the applicable billing period until cancelled.
You may cancel a paid subscription using the functionality made available through your account or by contacting us.
If you buy a subscription in the iPhone or Android app, it is sold and billed by Apple or Google under their terms. It renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you manage or cancel it in your device's subscription settings. Refund requests for these purchases are handled by Apple or Google. A subscription bought in the phone apps covers your own account only.
Deleting your account cancels a subscription bought on our website, but not one bought through Apple or Google; cancel that in your device's subscription settings.
Cancellation prevents future renewals but does not ordinarily result in a refund for a billing period that has already begun, except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise.
Prices shown include any taxes that apply; nothing is added at checkout.
If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer rights, including any applicable cancellation or withdrawal rights, are not limited by these Terms.
10A. The Organization Plan
The Organization plan gives everyone with a CorrespondR account at a company's email domain the features of Pro, a Verified company badge, and one bill for the company. It is bought on our website, by card.
Who the customer is. The company is the customer and pays. The person who buys the plan confirms that they may do so on the company's behalf, and becomes the organisation's first owner.
Proving the domain. Before paying, the company proves that it controls its email domain by adding a record we provide to the domain's DNS settings. We check the record again from time to time. If it is removed and not restored within 14 days, the domain stops being verified: the Verified badge goes and new sign-ups are no longer covered, while existing members, billing and messages stay. If an organisation's owners can no longer be reached, we may hand control of it to someone who proves control of the domain again. Only work email domains can be verified, and each domain belongs to one organisation.
What the Verified badge means. The badge shows that the person's company has proven control of its email domain and has the Organization plan. It is not an endorsement of the company by CorrespondR.
Who is covered. Everyone with a CorrespondR account at a verified domain becomes a member automatically, including people who sign up later. Owners and admins can remove people, for example when they leave the company; a removed person goes back to the free plan and is not added again automatically. Members keep their own accounts, contacts and conversations: when they leave the organisation, their account continues on the free plan.
What owners and admins can see. Owners and admins can see who the members are: their name, email address, role, when they joined, when they were last active, and the country and city entered for them. They cannot read anyone's conversations, sign in as another person or delete accounts.
Seats and billing. The plan is billed per seat, monthly or yearly. The company pays for the number of members or the number of seats it bought, whichever is higher, and at least the minimum shown before purchase. We count the members every day: seats added during a billing period are charged for the rest of that period at once, and fewer members lower the next bill. Prices per seat depend on the total number of seats and are shown before purchase. Someone who already pays for Pro on our website can switch to the Organization plan; the unused part of their Pro subscription is credited.
Renewal and cancellation. The plan renews automatically until an owner cancels it in the billing settings. It then ends at the end of the period already paid for, and members go back to the free plan unless they buy Pro themselves.
11. Third-Party Services
CorrespondR may integrate with third-party services such as authentication providers, infrastructure providers, email services, analytics services or other software platforms.
Your use of a third-party service may also be subject to that provider's own terms and privacy practices.
We are not responsible for third-party services that are outside our reasonable control.
The availability of a third-party integration does not constitute an endorsement of that provider.
12. Privacy and Personal Data
Our handling of personal data is described separately in our Privacy Policy.
Depending on how CorrespondR is used, CorrespondR may act as a controller of certain account-related personal data and may act as a processor of information handled on behalf of business customers.
You can download the data we hold about you at any time in Settings → Profile → Download my data.
Business customers that need a Data Processing Agreement can request one from info@correspondr.com.
These Terms do not replace our Privacy Policy or any applicable Data Processing Agreement.
13. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect the Service and information processed through it. They are described on our Security page.
Messages are encrypted in transit and at rest, but not end to end. This lets your conversations appear on every device you sign in on and lets us act on reports of abuse.
However, no online system can guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for using appropriate security practices when using CorrespondR, including securing your devices and account credentials.
If you become aware of a security vulnerability affecting CorrespondR, please report it responsibly to us at info@correspondr.com with "Security" in the subject, and do not exploit it.
14. Intellectual Property
CorrespondR and its underlying software, design, branding, trademarks, interfaces and other materials are owned by CorrespondR or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Except for the limited right to use the Service under these Terms, no intellectual property rights are transferred to you.
Feedback, suggestions or ideas that you voluntarily provide about CorrespondR may be used by us to improve the Service without an obligation to compensate you, provided that doing so does not grant us ownership of your confidential information or User Content.
15. Availability and Changes to the Service
We aim to provide a reliable Service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
The Service may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, security incidents, technical failures, third-party infrastructure or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We may modify, improve, add or remove features as CorrespondR develops.
If we make a change that materially reduces core functionality for paying customers, we will provide reasonable notice where practicable.
Nothing in this section limits rights that users have under mandatory applicable law.
16. Beta and Experimental Features
CorrespondR may occasionally provide beta, preview or experimental features.
Such features may be incomplete, changed or discontinued and may contain errors.
Where a feature is clearly identified as beta or experimental, you should not rely on it for critical business processes unless you have independently determined that doing so is appropriate.
17. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using CorrespondR at any time.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Profile → Delete account, or as described at app.correspondr.com/delete-account.
We may restrict, suspend or terminate an account where reasonably necessary because:
- the user materially or repeatedly violates these Terms;
- the account creates a security risk;
- the Service is being used for unlawful activity;
- payment obligations remain materially overdue after appropriate notice;
- continued access could cause material harm to CorrespondR, another user or a third party; or
- we are required to do so by law.
Where appropriate and legally permitted, we will give reasonable notice and an opportunity to correct the issue before terminating an account.
For serious security incidents, fraud, unlawful activity or urgent risks, immediate action may be necessary.
18. Account Closure and User Content
Account closure may result in loss of access to User Content associated with the account.
Messages you sent in shared conversations remain visible to the other participants, shown as sent by "Deleted user". Files you uploaded are deleted.
We may retain certain information after account closure where reasonably necessary to comply with law, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud, enforce agreements or otherwise as described in our Privacy Policy.
Before deleting your account, you can download your data (Settings → Profile → Download my data) and any conversation (from the conversation itself).
Where applicable law gives you rights to obtain or export information, those rights remain unaffected.
19. No Professional Advice
CorrespondR is a communications platform.
Information exchanged through CorrespondR may come from other users and does not represent advice from CorrespondR.
CorrespondR does not provide legal, financial, accounting, medical or other professional advice merely by providing the Service.
You are responsible for evaluating communications received through the Service and making your own decisions.
20. Disputes Between Users
CorrespondR is not responsible for contractual disputes, payments, services, products, representations or other dealings between users or organisations communicating through CorrespondR.
Users are responsible for resolving disputes arising from their relationships with each other.
We may assist with technical information where appropriate but are not required to mediate commercial or personal disputes between users.
21. Disclaimer
We provide CorrespondR with reasonable care and aim to maintain a secure and functional Service.
However, to the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided without guarantees that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every particular business purpose.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, legality or reliability of information provided by other users.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, remedies or other rights that cannot legally be excluded.
22. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CorrespondR, its operators, owners, affiliates and service providers shall not be liable for any loss, damage, claim, cost or expense arising out of or relating to your access to, use of, or inability to use the Service.
In particular, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CorrespondR shall not be liable for:
- loss of profits, revenue, business, contracts, opportunities, anticipated savings or goodwill;
- loss, corruption, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or unavailability of data or User Content;
- business interruption or operational disruption;
- communications, actions, omissions, representations or conduct of other users;
- transactions, agreements or disputes between users or organisations;
- reliance on information communicated through the Service;
- unauthorised access to an account resulting from compromised credentials or circumstances outside our reasonable control;
- failures, outages, security incidents or other problems involving third-party services, infrastructure or integrations;
- temporary or permanent interruption, modification or discontinuation of the Service; or
- indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary or similar losses or damages.
You are responsible for determining whether the Service is appropriate for your intended use and for maintaining any backups, records or alternative communication methods reasonably necessary for your business.
CorrespondR does not assume responsibility for User Content or for the conduct of users communicating through the Service.
Where liability cannot legally be excluded, CorrespondR's liability shall be limited to the minimum extent permitted by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability or statutory right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law, including mandatory rights that may apply to consumers.
23. Indemnification by Business Users
If you use CorrespondR in the course of business, you are responsible for claims arising directly from unlawful User Content you submit or from your material violation of these Terms.
This section does not require you to compensate CorrespondR for losses caused by CorrespondR's own acts, omissions, negligence or legal violations.
24. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as CorrespondR develops or where changes are needed because of new functionality, legal requirements, security considerations or changes to our business.
The current version will be made available through the Service or our website.
If a change materially affects users' rights or obligations, we will provide reasonable advance notice unless an immediate change is required for legal or security reasons.
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of an updated version constitutes acceptance where legally permitted.
If a material change requires renewed consent under applicable law, we will request it.
25. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway.
For business users, disputes that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the courts of Norway, with Oslo District Court (Oslo tingrett) as the agreed venue, unless otherwise required by mandatory law.
If you are a consumer, this provision does not deprive you of protections or dispute-resolution rights available under mandatory consumer law, including applicable rules regarding jurisdiction.
26. General Provisions
If a provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by law.
Our failure to enforce a provision immediately does not waive our right to enforce it later.
You may not transfer your contractual rights or obligations under these Terms to another party without our consent where such consent is reasonably required.
We may transfer the operation of CorrespondR and these Terms to another entity as part of a restructuring, merger, acquisition or sale of the business. If that happens, we will tell you who operates the Service.
These Terms, together with any applicable plan terms, Privacy Policy, Data Processing Agreement and other expressly incorporated terms, constitute the agreement governing your use of CorrespondR.
